A great day out for all the family
From a Countryside Marquee, to Food Hall, and from Cakes and Handicraft to Diggers and Tractors, there is plenty at Yealmpton Show for everyone, young and old to enjoy.
There are two rings, the Main Ring and the Countryside Arena which are packed full of entertaining things for all to see and enjoy.
The Main Ring
Confirmed for 2017:
The Imps Motorcycle Display Team
From the sound of revving engines to the awe of a billowing fire jump and the suspense of a multiple motorcycle combination ‘cross-over’ routine, The Imps will have you mesmerised by an unmissable display of discipline and skill. Furthermore, you will be stunned to learn that the youngest performer is only five years old! The Imps Motorcycle Display Team, noted for its impeccable smart red tunics and highly disciplined spectacular show originated in the 1970’s from The Hackney Adventure Holiday Project – a charity founded by Roy Pratt MBE that provided holidays in the country for under privileged young people. Some of the children found a dysfunctional old ‘motorbike’ – one thing led to another and a motorcycle display team, uniquely comprising young people aged six to sixteen, emerged.
Parade of Hounds
Enjoy the wonderful parade of hounds at Yealmpton Show - and the children will be encouraged to come into the ring and meet the hounds!
Grand Parade and Presentation of Cups
The Grand Parade is the highlight of the show. The parade is a chance for the winning horse, sheep, cattle and goat exhibitors to show off their prizes, as well as including the presentation of the cups.
An ever popular attraction, the heats will be held in the Countryside Sports Arena throughout the day. If you have a Terrier (or any type of dog) that’s keen to race, make sure you check the timetable so as not to miss out
Countryside Sports Arena
A show within the show, the countryside ring gives a chance to get close to some of the favourites of the visitors. The ring is at the far end of the showground, giving a panoramic view over the main ring, showing rings and the trade stands, quite a setting.
In the Countryside Marquee you will find a collection of different attractions all related to the countryside, from donkeys, to duck and owls and from Alpacas to bees and with lots of things for children to get involved in. The Marquee is located at the top of the show field adjacent to the Countryside Sports Arena.
